TAKBO.PH NIGHTFEST: OUR RUNNING COMMUNITY IS GETTING BIGGER.

by: Vicboy de Lima

The Takbo.ph Nightfest last April 9, 2011 was a celebration of running in the local scene.  No doubt about it, running is the hottest and fastest growing participative sports in the country today.

It is then fitting that the Takbo.ph Nightfest is the venue where we see proof that the running community of the Ateneo de Naga High School Batch 1983 is getting bigger.  On this night, we have nine 83nean runners who joined.  They are:

10K:       Ernie Badong                                                     5K:          Dan Paulino
               Ed Balcueva                                                                      Art Puncia
               Bob Castilla                                                                       Rico Sabalvoro
               Ruben Fajardo
               Vicboy de Lima
Allen Tolledo (all the way from Naga)

First time participants are Dan and Rico.  And on hand to give them tremendous amount of support were their respective families.  Plus, we have Naga-based classmate Larry Sabio also to greet us at the finish line.

Special thanks to Noel Guevara and family for hosting in La Marea a post-run dinner and drinking that extended beyond 12 midnight.

Thank you also to Takbo.ph, ably led by Jinoe Gavan, for hosting this special running event.  More importantly. Takbo.ph has been one of the effective catalysts in  the running community here in the Philippines.
Truly, running is a celebration and we should have more.  Pictures are better in conveying the feeling.
